ATL COMMUNITY DAY(13-04-2022)

“Creativity is thinking of new things and innovation is executing those new things.”

On the occasion of Dr.  Bheem Rao Ambedkar’s  birth anniversary 13th April 2022, ATL Community Day was celebrated at DSB International Public School, Rishikesh with full zeal and enthusiasm  with five other schools which are the members of Hubs of Learning Community.

The event began with an opening ceremony and a brief introduction about ATAL innovation mission, through which students have been made aware about emerging technologies in the evolving world. The whole seminar was conducted in different sessions in order to keep everything friendly and accessible to all.

The session was started with an introduction of circuits and Arduino UNO board. Here the functionality, utility and architecture of these boards have been explained with practical examples to all the students.

During the session, DSB innovators have demonstrated a water tank overflow alarm device made up using Arduino circuit board, which detects the overflow of water from the tank. It was a practical example showcased to the young innovators to give them a   basic idea about the use of technology in our daily life.

Each student was given an opportunity to run a practical demonstration of circuits through Arduino UNO and breadboard. Students have learnt about lighting the LED and using buzzer while making circuits. They were quick in grasping the roots of the circuit.

In the next session students were taught about designing and constructing 3D models using 3D printer. A small 3D model was also constructed as a live example. The students also saw the demonstration of a smart blind sensing stick developed at DSB ATL lab.

Next on the list were the apps made by the students of DSB using MIT app inventor. An app was also coded on the spot, in order to teach them how to code using MIT app inventor.

It is said that “Every coin has two sides”, moving on with this principle, we acknowledged them with the fact that technology not only serves us but equally proves to be dangerous and becomes the master. In light of that students were made familiar with cyber-attacks. Various ways were discussed to prevent being a victim of it.

The communication and interaction of the students throughout the session was really appreciative. Overall, the day proved to be fruitful with the students and were full of enthusiasm to try what they have learnt.
